A study in Saiyan evolution...by ~fogdark

When I first started watching Dragon Ball, back when I was a kid, I'd sit in front of the TV, Monday through Friday, enjoying the adventures of that super strong monkey-boy, Son Goku.
This was the first series that had great action, hilarious comedy, and a continuous story.
But one afternoon, Goku came back after a few years of training, and he wasn't a lil kid anymore. He was 18, and he had a growth spurt making him almost the same height as all the other grown-ups in the series.
It was incredible. And my first time seeing something like that in a animated show.
And time did not stop there for Goku. He got married and had kids. But other changes, besides aging, kept coming for him.
He was suddenly a Super Saiyan, the legendary warrior. And then, years later, he went beyond it as a Super Saiyan 2 and then we discovered he had surpassed that transformation a while ago, reaching the Super Saiyan 3 level...
Dragon Ball was the first series I saw where time did not stood still. Where the characters weren't the same age forever as they usually did in other animated shows.
They grew older as they grew powerful. That's one of the things I enjoy most about Dragon Ball...
